Overview

The Aakar Vocational Unit was established in 2013 as a specialized unit under Autism Care Nepal Society. It is dedicated to supporting adults with autism by promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life through structured vocational training and skill development programs. The unit focuses on a range of essential areas, including handicraft skills, self-help skills, communication abilities, social behavior, and behavior management. Through a holistic and individualized approach, the vocational unit aims to empower trainees to become more self-reliant and socially engaged. The programs are designed to cater to the unique needs and abilities of each individual, ensuring meaningful participation and progress. At present, the vocational unit is providing services to 16 trainees, who are actively engaged in various training activities that support their personal and professional development.
